YUMI KARASUMARU signs off on the new wristwatch for the Art Collection ‘Pappwatch’ of POP DESIGN, a new and independent brand that transforms the commonly used everyday accessories into new trends with original and exclusive art adapted to contemporary lifestyle, focusing on a strong attention to detail, on quality and on innovative and sustainable materials.
Pappwatch is POP DESIGN's line of wrist watches digitally made from Tyvek, a paper-like synthetic material, consisting of high-density polyethylene fibres, which is tear resistant, breathable, waterproof, non-toxic and recyclable.
POP DESIGN now collaborates with the painter and performance artist YUMI KARASUMARU and presents their new wristwatch ‘The Dolls Pappwatch’, as a limited edition of only 100 pieces, featuring the two standing Harajuku girls from her art piece The Dolls (2014, 70 x 50 cm, Indian ink, pencil and acrylic on canvas).
